Not The Brightest Star

A sky full of stars, all being wished upon.
One heavenly body after another.
Shall I wish upon the brightest, most radiant of them, the one everyone can see?
No, that star is not for me.
For since it is the brightest, everyone is wishing upon it tonight.
It's overworked and may not hear my plea.
So I shall look for that one lonely star.
You know, the one you've overlooked.
The one like me.
It's not the brightest, and hangs there alone.
Shall I be it's company?
Shall I be it's friend?
I think someone should.
Else it would be too lonely.
No one wants to wish upon the dimmest star,
but the one that shines the least, has the most to give.
No great expectations, no one to impress.
So if I wish upon this star, this lonely star, maybe, it will listen harder to me.
Care more.
For I relate to it's lonliness and wish to join it.
Together we shall shine the brightest and longest of all other stars.
Because we share the same spirit, and love of our little lives.
We watch from the sides, ever hopefull.
That someone will pick us, from the crowd,
Take a chance on the little guy.
I've taken my chance, and let it be known.
Within thease words are the hopes of this little girl and a whole new world.
